Think your mullet has what it takes? From tiny tails to legendary locks, this all-ages competition is open to kids, teens, parents, grandparents, and everyone in between. Whether you’re rocking a classic country cut or full-on flow, come show off your style, cheer on the competition, and enjoy plenty of laughs and fair-time fun with the whole crew!

Free Entertainment Stage

Showtime (Flow Time): 4:30pm

Rules:

  • Contest is open to all ages.
  • Participants must check in at least 15 minutes before the competition begins.
  • All hairstyles must be family-friendly and appropriate for all audiences.
  • Natural or enhanced mullets are welcome. Wigs/extensions are allowed in the “Best Fake Mullet” category.
  • Participants may enter only once.
  • Judging categories may include (pending on participation):
    • Best Overall Mullet
      • Best Kids Mullet (12 years old and under)
      • Best Teen Mullet (13-17 years old)
      • Best Adult Mullet (18 years old and up)
    • Best Fake Mullet
    • Best “Business in the Front, Party in the Back”
  • Contestants will have a short runway walk or introduction on stage.
  • Judges’ decisions are final.
  • Good sportsmanship is required from contestants and spectators.
  • By entering, participants agree that photos/videos may be used by the Jerome County Fair for promotions and social media.

Official Mullet Code

  • Extra points for confidence.
  • Denim and patriotic attire is encouraged but not required. Although, they will score you bonus points with the judges!
  • Air guitar solos are always acceptable.
  • The louder the cheers, the better the flow.
